About this position
The City is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to join its Health and Compliance team. The team is responsible for ensuring compliance with Planning and Building legislation, as well as the City's local laws.
In this role, you will work within a team environment, supervising other compliance officers and conducting your own complex investigations. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing court briefs, presenting evidence and initiating prosecutions when necessary.
What we are looking for
To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in a compliance or investigative role.
- Proven public relations and interpersonal skills
- High level of ability to interpret and apply legislation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively handle conflict situations
Essential requirements
- Driver's licence
- National Police Clearance (less than three months old) Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
Desirable requirements
- Experience working in a senior role coordinating or supervising compliance staff
