Swimming Pool Compliance Officer

About this position

The City is seeking a motivated Compliance Officer to conduct swimming pool and spa inspections, ensuring compliance with the Building Act and Australian Standards.

Working five days per fortnight, you will be part of a team of compliance professionals responsible for inspections, providing information to customers on legislative and regulatory requirements, and following up on non-compliance issues. You will be required to use the City's information systems to record inspections.

Whilst not essential, compliance experience within a local government environment would be highly regarded.

What we are looking for

To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience within an investigative or compliance-related field
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency in using computerised business systems, including electronic records and complaint management.

Essential requirements

  • Current driver's licence.
  • Current National Police Clearance (no older than three months). Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
