About the position
Drive the management of the City's essential infrastructure, including bridges, roads, pathways and associated assets, while playing a pivotal role in grant funding and asset renewals within the five-year Capital Works Plan.
Key responsibilities
- Investigate and address community requests for path and road upgrades.
- Provide expert technical advice on road and pavement reinstatements.
- Administer the submission and acquittal of grant funding applications, particularly the preparation of Metropolitan Regional Road Group (MRRG) grant funding for road rehabilitation.
- Prepare the draft annual Capital Works Program for the Road Renewal and Path New and Renewal programs.
- Develop the five-year forward program for the Road Renewal and Path New and Renewal programs.
- Assess restricted access vehicle route applications.
- Use RAMM and GIS software for spatial queries, mapping and data extracts.
What we are looking for
- Expertise in municipal engineering project planning and execution.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Experience with spatial software and data analysis.
- Problem-solving acumen and the ability to tackle complex challenges.
- Exceptional organisation and time management skills.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently when needed.
Essential requirements
- Diploma or higher qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Driver's licence
- Current Police Clearance (less than three months old). Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role, but it will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition
