About this position
A rewarding opportunity is available for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Library Officer to provide exceptional library services, assist customers, and contribute to engaging library programs and events.
The City operates four libraries across Gosnells, Beckenham, Thornlie and Southern River and the successful applicant may be rostered at any of these locations. The Library Service operates seven days a week, with evening and weekend shifts required.
In this role, you will
- Assist customers with enquiries, memberships and digital support
- Contribute to library programs and events
- Support general library operations, including desk shifts, stock processing and other duties as directed
- Assist with collections maintenance
- Merchandise and promote library resources
- Deliver library services across the City's branches
What we are looking for
To be successful, you must have:
- Confidence in delivering library programs for children and adults
- Experience in libraries or a related customer service environment
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with teams, individuals and the community
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
Essential requirements
- National Police Clearance (less than three months old) Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
