- 12-month contract (Fixed term)

- Level 5 $95,054 to $100,446 plus super
- Level 6 $102,152 to $110,001 plus super

About this position
Play a key role in shaping the future of our city by assessing and determining planning proposals, including development applications, subdivisions, scheme amendments, Structure Plans, and Local Development Plans. You'll prepare detailed reports for Council and JDAP, attend meetings with stakeholders, and provide clear, expert advice to government agencies, developers, the public, and internal teams—all while delivering exceptional customer service.
The salary range will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
What we are looking for
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Sound knowledge (Level 5) and/or demonstrated comprehensive knowledge (Level 6) of land use planning and development control and relevant legislation.
- Good understanding of the importance of design in the planning process (Level 6).
- Strong organisational and customer service skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain position working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective report writing skills (Level 6).
Demonstrated experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.
Essential requirements
- Current driver's licence
- Current National Police Clearance (no older than three months). Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
- Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or a related discipline.
