About the position
The City's Leisure and Culture Branch is seeking a suitably experienced and passionate Community History Officer to work with the City's Heritage Services section. The position is located at the Knowledge Centre in Gosnells and is responsible for building the City's community history collection and encouraging community engagement and participation in the history and heritage of Gosnells.
We are looking for a team player, with well-developed technical skills and expertise as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service. The successful applicant will work with the Heritage Services team to develop and positively promote the history and heritage of the City of Gosnells.
Please note: This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
What we are looking for
To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:
- The ability to work in a community history role delivering quality services and outcomes.
- Demonstrated research skills.
- Excellent written communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Essential requirements
- Driver's licence
- Current National Police Clearance (less than three months old) Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
