About this position

The City is seeking an experienced Surveyor Engineering Construction to provide professional engineering surveying services that support the successful delivery of capital works and civil construction programs.

Reporting to the Coordinator Engineering Construction, this role is responsible for the set-out of engineering works in accordance with design drawings, specifications and standards, including ongoing survey control works during construction. You will also undertake feature surveys and as-constructed surveys, ensuring accurate and timely data handover to the City's Assets Department.

Working closely with project teams, contractors, utility providers and internal stakeholders, you will contribute to accurate data capture, effective planning and high-quality construction outcomes.

This is a permanent position based at the City's Operations Centre in Maddington.

In this role, you will

  • Deliver engineering survey services for civil and infrastructure construction, including set‑out, survey control, feature and as‑constructed surveys
  • Undertake 3D spatial modelling for design, construction staging and asset information
  • Manage and coordinate survey contractors and specialist service providers
  • Ensure accurate, timely data capture and handover to Asset Management systems
  • Support capital works programming through survey planning and resource forecasting
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high‑quality customer service outcomes

What we are looking for

To be successful, you must demonstrate

  • Sound knowledge and experience in civil infrastructure surveying practices, including set-out, feature and as-constructed surveys
  • Experience coordinating survey inputs across multiple projects and managing contractors
  • Demonstrated research capability and high-level problem-solving skills
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage workload autonomously and meet project timeframes

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Surveying
  • Driver's Licence
  • White Card
  • Current Police Clearance (less than three months old) Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition
