  • Base salary of up to $260,000 per annum + car allowance + superannuation

About this position

The City invites applications for the position of Director Infrastructure to join a high-performing and committed Executive Team.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role has responsibility for the key areas of Engineering, Waste Services and Operations Centre, Facilities and Development Projects, and Parks and Environment. The Director Infrastructure will support the achievement of the City's strategic and operational goals across the Directorate.

You will lead a diverse, multidisciplinary Directorate, driving performance, innovation and continuous improvement to provide proactive and progressive services to the community.

What we are looking for

We are seeking a senior leader with substantial experience who must be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience operating in a political environment and/or engaging with a Board at a senior level
  • Ability to champion and embed the City's vision, values and strategic objectives
  • Strong people leadership capability, with a track record of inspiring, developing and empowering teams
  • Experience contributing to and leading the development and implementation of corporate strategy, policy and direction
  • Ability to provide high level strategic and operational advice to the Chief Executive Officer and Elected Members
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing organisational change
  • Strong financial acumen, including the development and management of large and complex budgets
  • Experience overseeing major projects of strategic significance within a complex organisation

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Business or in a discipline relevant to the role
  • Driver's licence
  • National Police Clearance (less than three months old.) Please note: this is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition
